Assisted director Sarna Lapine on the English-language musical adaptation of the French-Canadian play Les Belles-soeurs by Michel Tremblay. Adaptation of book by Brian Hill and adaptation of the music and lyrics by Neil Bartram.

So many cool opportunities on this one! Including assisting with pre-production script work, attending an event at the residence of the Delegate General of Quebec in New York, and being in the room everyday for two weeks with this impressive cast including Ann Harada, Bonnie Milligan, and Keala Settle.

I deeply connected to the material, which is about working class women and what is unleashed when one of them wins a lottery; I heard my mother and her sisters in the characters’ struggles, dreams, and infighting. Grateful to be introduced to this seminal Canadian play, and excited for its future adaptation for an American musical theater audience.

Produced by Allan Sandler & Andy Nulman with Eva Price.
